High Dynamic Range

When you look at this do you see a photograph? Or has it gone beyond the realms of photography into something… other. Sure, a photograph was the starting point but can it still be classed as such?

    At first I saw it as a really nice photo, then on closer inspection it looks more light something setup in a studio. Is this the fall back from HD photography? Is it just too HD to really take absorb the photo as a whole? I still love the shot anyways and think its been done really well.
